🌿 Elowen, The Crystalbloom Seer

The Prismveil Gnomes have gathered for their first portrait sitting, and this week we are meeting them one by one. Today we find Elowen, The Crystalbloom Seer, seated with her notebook open, goggles slipping down her nose as she studies a raindrop caught in a leaf.

She tilts her head, scribbles something quickly, then pauses. “Curious,” she whispers, as though the droplet has just told her a secret. When she notices a bird watching her, she tucks a loose curl of hair behind her ear and shrugs. “It’s nothing. Except… the sparrows always nest lower when storms are near.” Then she goes back to writing.

This is Elowen. She is quiet, bookish, and sees meaning in places most overlook. The way a fox paces before rain, the hesitation in a friend’s reply, the scatter of gears left on a workbench… each piece is another thread in a pattern only she seems able to follow.

She does not call this foresight. She calls it paying attention. And though she can be wrong when a piece is missing, her patterns are often so precise they feel uncanny, as though she glimpses the future through a crystal.

The others tease her for drifting too deep into her thoughts, but they know she notices things they never would. When choices loom, it is Elowen’s quiet voice that often ties the details together.

She does not care for myths or destinies. She simply tends her garden, keeps her notes, and lets the patterns unfold.

And tomorrow, another gnome will step into the light, one who weaves mischief and confusion into the very fabric of the forest.
